What this is
The deposit for membership of The Idolaters. You pay it once when you join, and it is held for as long as you are a member. It is not per work, so it stays where it is when a work is exchanged.
It comes back within fourteen days of the last work returning undamaged. If you buy a work instead, you may put the deposit towards the price.
Why it is a line of its own
The membership and the deposit go into the basket as two lines, so this one can be returned without touching a quarter you have already paid.
If a work comes back damaged, what the repair costs is taken from here first. Costs less, and the difference is returned; costs more, and the rest is invoiced. Ordinary traces of hanging are my concern and cost you nothing.
This line belongs with the quarterly membership, and the loan terms say the rest.
