I find these women online and scroll on, the same as everyone else. Once in a while one of them stops me, and I save the photograph without knowing why. Months later it is still in the folder, and the only way to find out why is to paint it.

I cannot help you with the wall

These paintings need a wall people walk towards, not one they walk past. Everyone who comes in will have made up their mind about you within four seconds of seeing it.

That is the part I cannot do for you, and the part nobody warns you about. It is also the part that passes: the ones who own these stop noticing the reaction after about a month, and never stop noticing the painting.

After you order

Ordering takes a minute. The wall is the real decision

The canvas ships insured from the Netherlands in an unmarked box, with a certificate of authenticity in my own name. Nothing on the outside says what is inside.

So the delivery is not the hard part either. Hang it anyway.
