Kindly (On Gold) is the one canvas in this series that is not aimed outward. Almost every photograph I save is made to be seen, and good at it; this one is not.

Who is Kindly Myers?

Kindly Myers is an American model, fitness model and U.S. Army veteran who has worked professionally since 2007. In September 2018 she was on the cover of Playboy South Africa.

Before that she appeared in FHM and Maxim, reached the semi-finals of Maxim's Hometown Hottie competition, won the International Bikini Model Search in Las Vegas in 2016, and has worked as a spokesmodel for brands including Redneck Riviera.

Before modelling she served four years in the Army National Guard. Her work has appeared in Maxim and Playboy: in 2017 Playboy México featured her, and in 2017 and 2018 Maxim published two exclusive shoots, a Baywatch-themed series by photographer Kenny Roland and a cowgirl series by Joe Damaso. In 2023 she was on a Playboy cover in the bunny suit, and in 2024 she opened the runway for Nalu Bay Swimwear at Sin City Swim Week in Las Vegas.

This summary is put together from publicly available sources and has not been checked with her. If something here is wrong or she would rather it were not here, write to the studio and it is corrected or removed.

Painting Kindly Myers in the studio

The canvas is turned in on itself, and I am still not entirely sure I was meant to be looking. Whatever is happening is happening on the inside, and it is not mild. That is what kept me at it for weeks: not the surface of the image, but the fact that it does not perform.

Days at a time over several weeks. No schedule and no deadline. It stopped when I was finished with it, not when the canvas was.

Kindly Myers paintings: what exists

Oil on stretched canvas, 120 x 80 cm, signed, one of one, from Painted Idols. Painted from a photograph she published herself. There is no print of it. The canvas was painted by hand from that photograph; what it became is the painter's doing, not hers.

What is still available, and at what price, is on the cards below.

“Something stops me. Then I have to deal with it.”

I wrote to Kindly Myers about this painting, as I do to every woman in the series. Not every message gets an answer. If you are Kindly Myers, or you made the photograph, and you would rather it were not shown here: write to the studio and it comes down. No explanation needed.
