Paint your idol
How it plays
- One shape, two by two. It falls carrying the colours of a place where it can land flat, and there is always at least one such place.
- Right place, and the painting underneath comes through unpixelated. Wrong place, and that patch is dead stone: no points, and that bit of the painting is gone for good.
- The canvas is done when every square is taken. The cleaner and the faster you were, the higher the score.
What it earns you
Every canvas pays three times the price of a canvas in the largest bundle, multiplied by your score over the ceiling. There is no threshold and there is no cap: it runs with how you played, and it lands on your account the moment the canvas is done.
- Level 1
- free practice ▪ it earns nothing
- Levels 2 and 3
- one credit a canvas ▪ € 1.25 loose, down to € 0.75 in the bundle of twenty
- A flawless canvas
- € 2.25 in store credit
- An average canvas
- around € 0.40
- Everyone who plays
- 20% off any painting ▪ the code is in your evening mail
Store credit is spent in the shop, on anything in it, and it does not expire. It is not transferable. The discount code is for the paintings, not for prints and not for credits, and neither the code nor the credit is meant for The Idolaters membership, its deposit or the swap.
Your email address
Your first canvas asks for it, and not as a formality: it is where your score and your credit go. It makes you an account in this shop, which is where the credit sits. On an evening you played you get one mail from me with what you scored that day and the discount code in it. The newsletter is a separate tick box on that same screen, and it stays off unless you switch it on yourself.
What people ask me
Do I have to pay to play?
No. Level 1 is free and you can play it as often as you like. It is also the level that earns nothing: it is there to practise on, not to compete on.
What can I do with the credit?
Spend it in the shop, on anything in it, and alongside the discount code in the same order. It sits on your account, it does not expire, and it is not transferable.
Does the discount work on prints?
The code is for the paintings. The credit you played for works on anything in the shop, prints included.
Does a bigger bundle earn more?
Every canvas is worth the same, whichever bundle it came out of. The large bundle is the cheaper one per canvas, so it is the one that leaves you the most.
What happens to my email address?
You get one mail from me on an evening you played, with your score and the code. It also makes you an account in this shop, because that is where the credit sits. Nothing else, unless you tick the newsletter yourself.
